Yes, otherwise our hosts would not serve it. Veggies are washed, meat is heated well, rice is cooked. But remember, this is home cooking, not a sterile restaurant.

Do they use MSG?

Yes, and that is not a problem. MSG is a taste enhancer, and it is something the human body produces and it is in tomatoes and broccoli. If you heard otherwise, please read this article about the MSG-myth.

Can I get vegan food?

Unfortunatly not. Our hosts make traditional Khmer homemade food, and that is usually not vegan. Some host can change the menu to vegetarian. Also, there are some great local vegan restaurants in Siem Reap, just send us a message and we will get you in contact with them.
