The most common places to visit are the old quarter and the Hoan Kiem Lake. This is a favorite hangout by locals, especially in the later afternoon. If you want to observe Vietnamese street life, this is one of the best spots. From here you can later walk to the old quarter. While it is a favorite place for tourists it still kept it’s authenticity. When you are up for street food, just walk around and try from the many stalls.
Another place to visit is the temple of literature. It is a beautiful building, great for taking pictures. It was the first university in Vietnam and founded 1070.
